The Greater Romeo-Washington Chamber of Commerce held their 23rd Annual Golf Invitational on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. The event was a huge success as nearly one hundred business professionals and their clients hit the links at Greystone Golf & Banquet Center. The invitational provides a high quality networking opportunity and heightens visibility while promoting camaraderie for the golfers and the volunteers.
“This is a highly anticipated event. Those who don’t see each other on a regular basis have a chance to reconnect and have a great time,” Executive Director Jennifer Groomes said. “This golf outing has proven to be a fantastic way for business owners to promote their company to a specific audience. We have been so fortunate to have many sponsors come back year after year.”
Over a dozen volunteers enthusiastically helped coordinate and facilitate the invitational. “It takes a lot of dedicated volunteers to organize and promote an event of this size and caliber,” Groomes said. “My heartfelt thanks to all of the volunteers and the staff of Greystone for helping to make this outing such a huge success – we couldn’t do it without their help!
Highlights of the day included an opportunity to win a car, a putting contest, two betting holes, contest games for both men’s & women’s longest drive, closest to the pin & straightest drive, 50/50 cash raffles, and a multitude of door prizes. The team from Keller & Associates (Al Keller, Mike Dearnley, Mike Mentz & Keith Golembiewski) shot the lowest score earning their team a cash prize, bragging rights and the Chamber Cup for a year!
